DANNY Wright is one win away from lifting the National Association of Boys’ Clubs 63 kilos title.
The Failsworth-based light-welterweight faces Eunnis Chaima at the Leeds Irish Centre on Sunday.
Victory for Danny (16), a member of Ben Lancaster’s Boarshaw Club in Middleton, would make up for a crushing defeat at the semi-final stage two years ago.
Coach Lancaster said: “Danny got, what I thought, was a poor decision back then. I think he would have won it easily if he had reached the final, so he deserves this chance. He’s been waiting for this and I’m confident he can take the title.”
Danny, who has worked under Lancaster’s tutelage since he was seven, beat Trent Smith (Worcester City) at the Nissan Sports Centre, Sunderland, to get to the final. But England international Chaima won’t be a pushover
