RUGBY:
THE Oldham Youth and Junior Cups will continue in 2013.
Rugby Oldham, the Oldham RLFC Independent Supporters’ Trust, the Oldham Amateur League and the Oldham RLFC Ex-players’ Association have taken over the competition.
Garry Hepworth, who stepped down from his role at the Service Area in July, has agreed to arrange fixtures.
Before the Service Area’s involvement from 2006-2012, the junior cups were run under the umbrella of the Oldham Amateur League.
Ian Wilson, secretary of Rugby Oldham Supporters’ Trust, says the game in the town has brought through a host of leading professional and amateur players over the years.
