Warrior Jack shines against Wales

RUGBY: BLUE Coat schoolboy Jack Etchells made his mark for the England RFL youth team against Wales.
Etchells – a former Oldham St Anne’s starlet who is now with Wigan Warriors – played in the England team which won 20-18 in Neath.
ST Anne’s under-18s crushed Wigan St Cuthbert’s 56-0 to move joint-second in the North-West Youth League table.
Tries were scored by James Shaw, Dom Bryan, Danny Hurley (two), Ryan Powell, Luke de Fue, Nathan Mason, Shaun Callwader, Omari Eastmond, Brad Turner and Lawrence Girvin.
Martyn Swain added six conversions.
Powell was the man-of-the-match, while Eastmond was voted the coaches’ man-of-the-match.
