CUP OF CHEER . . . Oldham under-14s and coach Pam Hazelton are all smiles after clinching the national title.
NETBALL:
OLDHAM Netball Club is enjoying its amazing record of 44 national titles following the under-14s’ victory in Redbridge, Essex.
The youngsters’ success capped another outstanding season for the club, which saw the senior team retain its Premier League crown and the under-16s land national honours.
The under-14s final was a terrific contest, with Oldham edging out Hertfordshire side Turnford by 23 to 21.
There was little in it up to half-time — 11-10 in OIdham’s favour – but the third quarter proved decisive as Oldham opened up a 19-14 lead.
With the title in their sights, all Oldham had to do was hold their nerve.
Oldham were in dominant form over the two days.
