In-form duo sink Heyside

JAMES Howard and Will Wilson both struck half-centuries as leaders Saddleworth enjoyed a 53-run win at Heyside in the Saddleworth and District under-15s League.
In reply to Saddleworth’s 133 for one, Heyside fell short as they could only clock up 80 for nine from their 20 overs.
Royton stayed joint-top of the table as they secured a 13-run win away at Moorside.
James Taylor-Maw was the top scorer as Royton reached 101 for four, while a young Moorside outfit batted well but could only reach 88 for two in their 20 overs as A Jump struck an impressive 31.
Micklehurst edged out Glodwick by just 12 runs in a close match.
J Caldwell’s 50 helped Micklehurst reach 129 for two, and then he took four for 18 as Glodwick were bowled out for 117.
J Chadwick scored 50 for Glodwick.
Stalybridge St Paul’s celebrated their first win of the season in a tight game at home to Droylsden.
After dismissing the visitors for 89, St Paul’s reached 90 for the loss of seven wickets as Ben Watson scored 49.
In the Under-17s Division, Ashton thumped Friarmere by 10 wickets.
After bowling out Friarmere for 58 – with Ben Philips taking five for 13 – Ashton sailed to 60 without loss to seal a comfortable win.
