NETBALL:
COACHES at Saddleworth Netball Club are being kept busy with more than 120 girls turning up every week for training sessions.
Established a decade ago as a community session, Saddleworth Netball Club has mushroomed into a huge outfit, based at Saddleworth School and led by hard-working head coach and chairperson Kelly Hutchins.
And now Kelly is hoping to take the club to a higher level: “I am very proud of the journey so far and it couldn't be where it is without staff, parents and players,” she said..
“My vision now is to put on more high performance training sessions for players and come next season, enter them in higher leagues to reach their full potential.”
The club has 12 teams playing in local and county leagues.
“We attended our first tournament recently and gained good results and we are now looking at more — and are even organising our own summer event in July.”
Training sessions for girls of primary to senior age run at Saddleworth School on Thursday and Friday evenings. Email khutchins3@hotmail.com for details.
