Prestige event for young golfers

GOLF:
CROMPTON and Royton Golf Club is to introduce a new junior version of the Chronicle Cup.
The club opted for a junior medal event after discovering a trophy, the Lees Newsome Cup, that is no longer played for.
The High Barn club encourages junior golf and plans to run the event for Oldham and District members Brookdale, Crompton and Royton, Oldham, Saddleworth and Werneth on August 25, with entry £3 per player.
All entrants must have been under 18 on January 1, 2013. The handicap limit for boys is 28 and for girls 36. Entry details from Ian Whittaker on 0161 633 3089. Entries close on Sunday.
