OLDHAM under-15s are through to the second round of the ESFA Inter-Association Trophy following a thumping 7-1 victory against Warrington.
The local lads won the majority of the early exchanges and opened scoring after 19 minutes. Warrington hit back to level the scores midway through the first half.
Oldham added two more goals before the break to lead 3-1, before dominating the second period with four more strikes.
Oldham will now travel to take on the winners of the Sefton versus Wigan tie in round two of the prestigious national knock-out competition.
The under-15s turn their attentions to the Greater Manchester Schools’ League on Saturday when they face Wigan (kick-off 10.30am). Oldham opened their league account with a 10-2 victory against Macclesfield, before being held to a 3-3 draw by Tameside a fortnight ago.
