FOOTBALL:
OLDHAM under-15s are out of the ESFA Inter-Association Trophy after suffering a 5-0 defeat by a strong Sefton side in their second-round clash on Merseyside.
The local lads, who ran out convincing 7-1 winners against Warrington in their opening round match, trailed 4-0 at the break before putting on a stronger second-half performance.
North Chadderton High School Year 10s are through to the third round of the ESFA Under-15 Play Station Schools’ Cup after running out comfortable 5-0 winners against Holmes Chapel School (South Cheshire).
All five goals came in the first half with Hardman (two), Horner (two) and Ward on target for the local youngsters.
Saddleworth School Year 10s weren’t as fortunate, going down 10-0 to Rivington and Blackrod School (Bolton) in their second-round clash.
