QUESTION of balance: Molly on the beam
GYMNASTICS:
HARD graft has paid off for nine-year-old gymnast Molly McGowan who is setting her sights on the national age group finals in Surrey.
The St Anne’s, Royton, pupil booked her place for Guildford this weekend after impressing in the North-West qualifiers.
Molly puts in 19 hours of practice every week at the Heywood Sports Gymnastics Academy, where she excels on the bars, beam, floor and vault.
Mum Trudy said: “Molly started gymnastics three years ago and has gradually worked her way up the ladder. How far she can go, who can say? It’s still early days — but the Academy must have seen something special in her.”
