MARTIAL ARTS:
JUNIOR students from Kamayaka Karate Club in Greenfield had plenty to smile about at the UKASKO Nationals.
Tim Coulter won gold in the Kata and Kumite, Jack Dunning bagged silver in the Kumite and Katy Gaunt also picked up silver in the Kumite.
The Kumite final for boys was between club-mates Tim and Jack, and in a close contest, it was the former who prevailed.
Another Kamayaka student, Aiden Burns, also impressed in his first competition.
The event, in Knutsford, was organised by seventh Dan Kevin Barlow and UKASKO chairman Roy Stanhope (ninth Dan), and was well attended, with clubs from all over the country taking part.
The Kamayaka Karate Club, based on Shaw Street, train on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 6-8pm.
