BRIGHT FUTURE: Richard Reygan is set to go far in the sport of karate.
EIGHT-year-old karate prodigy Richard Reygan returned from the world championships in Cardiff with a superb haul of FOUR medals.
Competing in his second tournament, South Failsworth Primary School pupil Richard took two silver medals in individual classes and one in the weapons discipline. He also won a bronze medal in the fighting class for his age group.
Proud mum Diane said: “We had a great weekend in Cardiff. We were delighted for Richard.
“It was very challenging because he was competing against mainly 11 year olds. Richard really enjoyed it and he’s already back in training for the next tournament.”
Richard’s club, the Dojo Karate Centre in Rochdale, returned home with 59 medals between them
