BOXING:
FIFTEEN-year-old North-West ABA junior champion Aqib Fiaz, from Lees, was in a superb form at the Hillerod Box Cup tournament in Denmark.
Aqib, who fights out of the Northside ABC camp, won the gold medal in the junior 60kg category after taking a first-round knock-out in the final. He also returned to Oldham with the prestigious Boxer of the Tournament award.
Aqib’s stable-mate Bobby Faulkner, from Audenshaw, also won a gold medal.
