Zak scoops junior trophy

THERE was a runaway winner in the Junior Open at Oldham with Zak Stergeon an impressive eight shots clear of the rest.

The 26 handicapper from Townley GC carded 86-26-60 to lift the Chronicle Cup ahead of Bury's Fynn LeGood (117-49-49).

Local talent Ben Pullen was third after his fine gross score of 74 brought him a 69 off his five handicap.
