Girls take home county medals

OLDHAM Aquatics swimmers competed at the first weekend of the 2017 Lancashire County Swimming Championships held at Manchester Aquatics Centre.
Leading the way was Kimberley Burston claiming the silver medal in the girls 14 years 200m butterfly in a personal best time of 2:36.51. She was closely followed by Ella Price who claimed bronze medals in the girls 13 years 200m individual medley, with a personal best of 2:41.24, and in the girls 13 years 200m butterfly, with a personal best time of 2:37.16.
Personal bests were recorded by Ellie Lomax, Ella Bergin Williams, Hannah McKeag, Emelie Byrom, Amy Harrison, Charlotte Bacon, Charlotte Bacon, Elizabeth Ashton, Katie Richardson, Ciara Harrison, Amarai Hoque, Kate Leddy, Catherine Stott, Ziggy Standring and Gemma Croft.
Head coach Mark Lord said: "I am very pleased with our swimmers' performances this weekend and I am looking forward to next weekend races. Hopefully, with a good weeks training ahead of us we can increase our medal tally."
