MOSSLEY eased themselves nine points clear of the Evo-Stik League Division One North drop zone thanks to a gritty, yet well-deserved 2-1 victory at rock-bottom Burscough.
Mitch Bryant scored the only goal of the first period at Victoria Park, bagging the first goal of a second spell with the Lilywhites.
EQUALISER
Jonah O'Reilly pocketed an equaliser for the hosts on the hour mark, but Mason Duffy pounced to strike the vital winner for Mossley with just 13 minutes to go.
The Lilywhites return to action on Saturday with a home fixture against seventh-placed Clitheroe.
CHADDERTON'S recent good run of form in the Hallmark Security League First Division was checked dramatically as they were hammered 5-0 at high-flying City of Liverpool FC.
The Merseysiders were three to the good by the interval courtesy of goals from John Connolly (two) and Michael Roberts.
Thomas Paterson and Daley Woods completed the rout in the second half.
Mark Howard's Chaddy will need to rally somewhat ahead of their next fixture - a crucial Macron Cup quarter-final tie at Premier Division Nelson at Little Wembley on Saturday.
