MOSSLEY fell to defeat in dramatic style as Tom Pratt fluffed a late penalty in their 2-1 defeat at Clitheroe in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
The reverse was the Lilywhites' first in six game, and it came after they had led at Shawbridge thanks to Mitch Bryant's 10th-minute strike.
Clitheroe skipper Danny Brady levelled matters before the break, then Kurt Willoughby struck what proved to be the winner in the 80th minute.
However, shortly after that the visitors were awarded a spot-kick, only for Pratt to see his rather weak effort saved by 'keeper Chris Thompson.
The Lilywhites are back in action tomorrow night (7.45pm) when they host second-placed Farsley Celtic.
CHADDERTON'S recent resurgence in the Hallmark Security League First Division was checked as they lost 2-0 at Sandbach United.
A goal in each half from Joshua Lundstram and Chris Jackson condemned Chaddy to defeat.
They return to action tomorrow with a tough midweek trip to Alsager Town (7.45pm).
