GREAT EFFORTS . . . Rob Charles (left) and Mikolaj Pluskota
TWO Oldham St Anne's players - Rob Charles and Mikolaj Pluskota - were called-up to represent the North-West Lionhearts under-17s in a fixture against West Wales in Llanelli.
It was great honour for both players, particularly for prop forward Pluskota, who only picked up a rugby ball 16 months ago after initially starring at football.
SUCCESS
His success goes to show what hard work and dedication achieves.
Both players had excellent games in tough conditions, with full-back Charles having a hand in the third try as well as scoring a superb touch down himself in a 24-8 victory.
It was an excellent team performance that saw the English team prevail, courtesy of some clinical defence and great attacking skills.
This capped an excellent month for the Saints' youth production line after Dom Bryan was selected for England Universities and under-16s prospect Tom Mayoh signed for Huddersfield Giants.
