Oldham ready to rumble!

MARK HEFFRON
THE next VIP Boxing Promotions show at the Oldham Leisure Centre on Saturday, July 29, promises to be a cracker.
The bill will be topped by Shaw-based Mark Heffron, who will face an eight-round International Challenger bout against an as-yet unnamed opponent.
Super-middleweight Heffron (25) boasts an unbeaten 16-fight professional record, with 13 of those wins coming inside the scheduled distance.
Failsworth's Danny Wright - trained by Ben Lancaster - will feature as one of the chief supports on the night.
Twenty-year-old welterweight hopeful Wright has won his first four bouts in the paid ranks, having starred on the international stage during his earlier amateur days.
Local interest will total four boxers on the night as two of Lancaster's young proteges - Oldham-based pair Jack Kilgannon and Joe Eko - will make their professional debuts.
The bill was set to have featured five Oldham hopefuls, but unbeaten welterweight Andy Kremner was forced to pull out earlier this week after he suffered a back injury in a serious car accident.
