ANNE-MARIE LORD . . . tough conditions
AT the 95-mile West Highland Way race in Scotland, Oldham and Royton Harrier Anne-Marie Lord not only had to put up with the difficult terrain and lots of hills, but had to withstand torrential rain to get through to the finish.
In what is usually a five or six day hike, Lord completed the course in a superb 29 hours, 13 minutes.
Donna Gardner and John Felton teamed up for the mixed pairs race at the multi-stage Round Sheffield run to finish in 60th place in 1:51:13.
Julie Felton and partner Nikki Mellor finished in 2:23:20.
At the Chadderton Hall parkrun, Ian Jackson finished second in 20:56, with Maria Wall first lady in a best time for the course in 24:07.
Mark Oliver clocked 28:24, Sara Bott 29:16 and Nicky Ford a course best 29:16.
At the Oldham parkrun, Owen Flage finished in 19:40, followed by Neil Pleasant (25:24), Harry Cooper (27:15), Keith Pleasant (28:45) and Tony Muir (33:57).
At Stamford Park, Julie Felton finished in 34:08.
The Heaton Park run saw David Carroll run well in 18:38, with Paul Bartholomew clocking 20:37, Megan Bartholomew 22:55, Lauren Bartholomew 23:24 and Amy Halley 24:01.
