Coppice clinch cup

The tournament, held at the Blackburn Rovers Youth Academy in Brockhall Village, saw eight teams compete for the title and it was unfancied Coppice who came out on top after defeating holders Asia (Rochdale) 3-2 in the final.
They recovered from 2-0 down against Nelson Paak United to win their first match 4-2 before sweeping aside Lancaster Moghuls 8-2 in the semi-finals.
Coppice also had to come from behind in the final, with Waqas Yunis cancelling out an early Asia goal. Provider Danny O’Connell then turned scorer from the penalty spot to put the Oldham Sunday League outfit ahead.
Man-of-the-match Ikram Daud added a third after sidestepping two challenges and although Asia pulled a goal back, it was Coppice’s day.
