Pete receives the award from Trevor Massey
PETER TUPMAN has created a first in the Lancashire and Cheshire Football League.
The 45-year-old, from Watersheddings (pictured left) has been named referee of the year for the second time.
Tupman, who previously picked up the award for the 2005/06 season, said: “This is a great honour. I’ve been officiating in the Sunday league and for Oldham Athletic’s academy for more than 10 years.
“The results are calculated from a points score given by league clubs after each game. That makes it especially nice as it is the players who have helped me win this.”
When Tupman’s not refereeing, he can be found working in the Connexions Centre, the young peoples’ information, advice and guidance service for 13-19 year olds.
The award was presented by Trevor Massey, from the FA, at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park ground.
