Tanner Cup wash-out
Date published: 02 July 2008
THE two outstanding Saddleworth League Tanner Cup quarter-final ties will go into a third night after heavy rain brought a premature end to play.
In reply to Moorside's 178 all out, Heyside were 111 for one with 23 overs gone when the heavens opened above Turf Pit Lane. Steven Firth is unbeaten on 49, while Ryan Barnes made 45.
Saddleworth are on the verge of victory at Well-i-Hole.
They need 25 more runs from 24 overs to overhaul Greenfield's paltry effort of 85 all out. Opener Neil Holt and Chris Brazewell are at the crease on 35 and five respectively. Peter Gill took both wickets to fall.
Both matches are due to resume tonight at 6.30pm.
