Defeat not an option for Delph
Date published: 04 July 2008
DELPH face a must-win game in premiership one of the Drakes Huddersfield League tomorrow.
They are away to Honley, who have their sights set on a record fourth consecutive title.
Recent defeats have seen Delph slip to sixth place in the table, 14 points adrift of table-topping Golcar.
Already with a mountain to climb, another loss will almost certainly wreck captain Grant Jones’ championship ambitions.
Delph should have beaten Honley two weeks ago but, after reducing the reigning champions to 65 for eight, they allowed them to reach 153.
The Huddersfield Road outfit were 70 for one in reply, before succumbing to 102 all out.
WOODHOUSES have the perfect opportunity to bounce back in the Lancashire County League tomorrow.
They are away to basement boys Denton, seven days after losing at home to pacesetting Denton St Lawrence.
