STAN BOSTON (Crompton) won the Oldham Veterans’ League’s Coronation Cup when he defeated John Lord (Delph) 15-11 in the final.
Quarter-finals: A Plows (Nimble Nook) w/o, W Nield (Fitton park) abs; H Wrigley (Werneth Park) 10, Boston 15; J Ashton (Springhead) 9 Lord 15; B Clark (Springbank) 14, A Jackson (Springbank) 15.
Semi-finals: Plows 13, Boston 17; Lord 15, Jackson 14.
MELVYN Lund won the Chadderton League’s President’s Handicap at Crompton with a 21-20 verdict over Phil Taylor.
Quarter-finals: Dave McGuinness 10, Lund 21; Paul Leah 21, Mike Flitcroft 20; Dave Robinson 21, Ray Tracey 15; Taylor 21, Mark Hulston 11.
Semi-finals: Lund 21, Leah 17; Robinson 20, Taylor 21.
ANDREW Buckley has been installed the 7-4 favourite to win the Oldham Evening Chronicle Handicap, the finals for which will be held at North Chadderton Social and Bowling Club on Saturday (6pm).
