THE President’s Salver, an open mixed foursomes, at CROMPTON AND ROYTON saw Brookdale’s Doug Unsworth and Angela Hunter emerge the victors after a three-way card play-off.

They returned a score of 71.5 which was the same total as runners-up Peter Wright and Noreen Nicholson, from the High Barn club, and third-placed Tony and Jean Dodgson, of Great Harwood.

Father and daughter Jim Keogh and Karen Heywood recorded the best gross score with 78 while the best visitor prize went to I Ashworth and A Jones with 89-16.5-72.5.

The midweek medal saw Robert Calow (73-7-66) claim the first division prize from Gary Melling (71-4-67).
