Delph book spot in Twenty20 final
Date published: 21 July 2008
DELPH are through to the final of the Examiner Twenty20 Trophy — but their Drakes Huddersfield League title hopes have suffered a jolt.
Inspired by Kyle Hogg’s 85 from only 33 balls — the Lancashire all-rounder struck 10 fours and six sixes — they defeated Broad Oak by five wickets.
Overseas player Bilal Khilji also made 46 and Luke Hargreaves hit 34 in reply to the hosts’ score of 222 for five.
They will face Honley at home in the final on Sunday (start 2pm).
But Delph went down by 105 runs at second-placed Barkisland in premiership one on Saturday. They crashed to 78 all out in a match reduced to 25 overs per side.
