Micklehurst hail Jonny in last-over thriller
Date published: 24 July 2008
JONNY Forrester was Micklehurst’s match-winner against Meltham in premiership one of the Drakes Huddersfield League.
In a game reduced to 25 overs per side, Forrester took three for 26 and blasted a quickfire 38 not out.
Micklehurst won by four wickets after replying to the home side’s total of 170 for five.
When Danny Anchor (pictured) was dismissed for a classy 40, Micklehurst were in deep trouble at 70 for four.
Mel Austin and Tom Whittle joined forces to take the score beyond 100, but when both departed in quick succession the visitors found themselves once more on the back foot at 121 for six.
However, Forrester had other ideas, steering Micklehurst home with five balls to spare.
