CHADDERTON drew 1-1 at Huddersfield League club Marsden in a pre-season friendly, new striker Chris Carruthers scoring their goal.

It was an encouraging display by the Broadway side who continue their build-up to the new campaign tomorrow at Todmorden.

OLDHAM TOWN were beaten 3-2 at home by Glossop in their first pre-season friendly.

Lee Neville and Matty Landregan, both returning from Chadderton, scored first-half goals as Town led 2-1.

Manager Tony Mills played a totally different line-up in the second period as Town, who tomorrow entertain Radcliffe Town, lost their way.
