CHADDERTON drew 1-1 at Huddersfield League club Marsden in a pre-season friendly, new striker Chris Carruthers scoring their goal.
It was an encouraging display by the Broadway side who continue their build-up to the new campaign tomorrow at Todmorden.
OLDHAM TOWN were beaten 3-2 at home by Glossop in their first pre-season friendly.
Lee Neville and Matty Landregan, both returning from Chadderton, scored first-half goals as Town led 2-1.
Manager Tony Mills played a totally different line-up in the second period as Town, who tomorrow entertain Radcliffe Town, lost their way.
