HEYSIDE lifted the Saddleworth League’s Moore Cup after an exciting 19-run victory against Uppermill, who hosted the final.
With the first team aiming for a league and Tanner Cup double, it is the first leg of what could be a tremendous treble for the Little Hey Street club.
And the win was something of an upset because in the second division Uppermill are riding high while Heyside are near the bottom of the table.
Heyside, batting first, amassed 218 for eight from their overs, wicketkeeper Jamie Cummings top scoring with 47, a knock which earned him the man-of-the-match award.
Uppermill put up a brave fight before being bowled out for 199.
