Springbank lift Swallow Cup

SPRINGBANK won the Chadderton League’s Swallow Cup for the third time in five years when they defeated Delph by 40 chalks in Sunday’s final at Nimble Nook.
In the semi-finals, Springbank proved too strong for Waterloo and Taunton ‘B’, while Delph overcame the challenge of North Chadderton Social and Bowling Club.

ANDY Buckley gave a man-of-the-match performance at Crompton as Greater Manchester defeated Shropshire in the semi-finals of the Endsleigh County Championship.
Buckley defeated former Waterloo champion Andrew Moss 21-11 in the home leg as Manchester won by 55 chalks.
But Manchester found it much tougher away from home at Greenfields BC, Shrewsbury, going down by 46 chalks despite man-of-the-match Gary Ellis’s 21-8 victory over Dave Hoffman.
