FIONA DOOLEY captured the Handley Memorial Trophy at WERNETH after a play off against Christine Moon.
The pair had finished all square in the major with Fiona scoring 77-6-71 and Christine 106-35-71.
But the 18-hole play off was a different story as Christine conceded defeat after 10 holes.
The first division sweep went to Sylvia Haq (86-14-72) from Hilda Garner (95-20-75) while in the second division Judith Wilkinson (106-33-73) edged out Dee Whittingham (108-34-74).
Winners of a two-ball Stableford was Sally Newton with 37 points on the card from joint first division sweep winners Heather Jeffreys and Jane Clark who were on the same total.
Mrs S Lees (35 pts) claimed the second division sweep from Kath Lomas and Lisa Hale (both 31).
Jackie Lees and Chris Pierson will represent OLDHAM in the Daily Mail Foursomes after winning the club’s qualifier with a nett 66.
They finished well clear of runners-up Sandra Newton and June Boyle (70.5).
First place in a three player goulash competition were Jackie Lees, Chris Pierson and Bev Mercer with a score of 75 Stableford points.
Runners-up were Sheila Antrobus, Wendy Cash and Julie Connolly with 73.
The LGU medal at Bunty Booth qualifier at SADDLEWORTH was won by Jane Wild (93-26-67) from second-placed Liz Hinchcliffe (84-16-68).
Home draws boost for Saddleworth
SADDLEWORTH have received two home draws in their double bid to make the Manchester Alliance finals.
They are at home to Blackley in the quarter-finals of the Archie Preston mixed foursomes and entertain Denton in the BMW Junior Challenge.
Two other local clubs in the mixed event were drawn away, Ashton at Bolton Deane and Brookdale at Worsley Marriots.
Werneth, the sole local representatives in the last eight of the flagship Dunham Forest Trophy, face a trip to Northenden, having already won away at Sale and claimed home wins over Birchwood, Harwood and Astbury.
