Off to a flying start

SPRINGHEAD and Royton Town made impressive starts to the new Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League campaign.
Town, who are hoping to go two places better after finishing third last season in the premier division, enjoyed a 3-0 win at Leigh Athletic and followed up with a 3-1 defeat of Pennington.
Springhead sprinted out of the blocks, coming from behind to sweep aside newly-promoted Elton Vale 6-2.
Shaw (two), Jackman, Stevenson, Bennett and Wolfenden weighed in with the goals for Springhead, who completed back-to-back wins with a 2-1 defeat of Avro.
Avro started life back in the top-flight with a 4-2 victory at Atherton Town, while Hollinwood were held to a 1-1 draw by Stockport Georgians.
