Ticking-off does trick for Town

A FORTHRIGHT talk from manager Tony Mills did the trick as Oldham Town made it two wins out of two in division one of the Vodkat North-West Counties League.
Town, thanks to a James Curley penalty, plus other efforts from Matt Landregan and Gary Chadderton, produced a strong second-half display to record a 3-0 success at AFC Blackpool.
Goalless after the first 45 minutes, Mills kept his players outside during the break and the open-air chat paid off.
Curley opened the scoring after 64 minutes, Landregan made it two with an overhead kick six minutes from time before substitute Gary Chadderton wrapped things up with long-range strike 60 seconds later.
CHADDERTON manager Paul Buckley was upset with his side’s defending after they lost 3-1 at home to AFC Liverpool.
“They were stupid mistakes and cost us,” fumed Buckley, referring to the visitors’ first two goals.
Bobby Fulham cancelled out Liverpool’s 12th-minute effort from a corner, but they were behind again just before half-time.
Chadderton wasted a series of chances — Lewis Maynard’s goalbound shot hit his own player, Nathan Jackson missed an empty net and Fulham struck the crossbar — before Dean Thurston added a third for unbeaten Liverpool.
TWO goals from Mike Fish, taking his tally to four this season, set Mossley on the way to a 4-1 win over Warrington Town in division one north of the UniBond League.
Fish struck in the 24th and 38th minutes after Dave Hanlon had given the Lilywhites an early lead.
However, Fish he was denied the chance of his hat-trick when he picked up an injury in the second half.
Danny Egan completing the scoring for Mossley 13 minutes from time after Warrington had pulled a goal back.
