OLDHAM St Anne’s ran in nine tries in a 52-0 defeat of Hollinwood in the first round of the Standard Cup last night.
The National Conference outfit led 28-0 at the break and nearly doubled their points tally in the second half.
Try scorers for Saints were Ryan Harley (two), Mark Dixon (two), John Kelly (two), Danny Kay, Gareth O’Donnell and Dane English.
Steve Hunt kicked five goals, Kay added two and Kevin Collins got the other.
Scrum-half Liam Parker and second-row Peter Jackson impressed for Hollinwood from the Pennine League.
The other first-round tie scheduled for last night was postponed as injuries and unavailability meant Higginshaw could not raise a team against Saddleworth Rangers.
The game will be played next month.
