Delph’s victory stroll
Date published: 01 September 2008
DELPH cruised to a seven-wicket win at Lascelles Hall in the Drakes Huddersfield League premiership.
Bilal Khiljee (four for 30) and Mike Smethurst (3-25) helped restrict the home side to 134 all out before an opening stand of 129 between Bruce Cruse (62) and Irfan Zahoor (61) laid the foundations for a comfortable success.
Yesterday’s home game with Clayton West was a victim of the bad weather.
Imran Lohdi took seven for 27 as the second team crushed Kirkheaton, who were dismissed for 91 in reply to Delph’s 200 for eight (Mark Corless 32).
