IT’S early days in the Oldham Amateur Snooker League but, with three games played, its CBC and Deaf B who are making the early running.

A 35 break by Danny Reece of Deaf B helped them to joint top position with CBC, who have taken 13 points from the first possible 18.

Martin Kennedy tops the highest break chart with his 49 in Little Cot A’s opening game of the season against St Pauls.

Martin Merrington is close on his heels with a 48 break, followed by Mick Smith of Deaf ‘A’ who got his own season off to a flying start with two 31 breaks in consecutive matches.

Steve Bramwell’s 30 break in his opening frame got Oldham Cricket’s ball rolling as they whitewashed Little Cot B 6-0.

Royton Band top the cards league having dropped only one point in their opening three matches, closely followed Springbank B and Oldham Town.

There is a delegates meeting this Sunday (12:30) at Chadderton Reform.
