ROYTONIANS beat the weather for the first time in a month but lost out to hosts Prestwich by the narrowest of margins.
In a game reduced to 35 overs per side, Roytonians were put in to bat and opener Steve Webb was going well on 23 before an unfortunate run out.
Wayne Critchley top scored with 34, but a lack of runs from the lower order left Roytonians dismissed for 110.
With a small total to defend, Roytonians seamers Russ Billing (3 for 24) and Nick Fawcett (4 for 32) bowled excellent spells to put the game back in the balance.
Sean Kenworthy then took two quick wickets to leave Prestwich tottering on 99 for nine, but the last wicket pair rode their luck to see the home side over the line.
