Amateur snooker league

OLDHAM Cricket have stormed into top position in the Oldham Amateur Snooker League courtesy of their second 6-0 whitewash of the season. G Dawson set the tone, winning the opening frame, before S Foy, D Dawson, S Bramwell and M Whittle all followed suit to put Cricket alongside CBC on 15 points with four matches played.

M Smith of Deaf A continued his fine run of form, adding a 49 to his growing list of 30-plus breaks. However, that was topped by G Hickman from Moss Inn who recorded a 51 to help his side to a 4-2 victory over Little Cot B.

Little Cot A remain unbeaten following their 4-2 win over joint leaders CBC and St Pauls recorded their first win of the season by completing a 6-0 whitewash of Blue Club A.

Royton Band remain clear at the top of the card league despite going down 3-1 to Deaf A. Nimble Nook have moved into second place with Springbank A and Blue Club B leading the chasing pack.
