Weaver’s solitary strike opens way for Royton

ROYTON FC have joined Coppice United at the top of the D&J Builders (North-West) Ltd Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott premier division table.

An 80th minute goal clinched a 3-2 win over Failsworth Dynamos, who had fought back from 2-0 down to draw level.

Meanwhile, a Shaun Weaver effort condemned Coppice to a 1-0 defeat against Hunt Lane Tavern.

In David Giblin division one, Royton Athletic’s poor run of form continued with a third straight defeat, this time at the hands of Khartoum Northern.

Parkside got off the mark with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Springhead Libs, while Wellington ‘B’ were beaten 3-0 by Broadgate, with all three goals coming in the last 10 minutes.

In division three, Steven Caine FC made light work of Royton Cons FC — they won 5-1 — to maintain their 100-per-cent record.
