Uppermill start search for new boss
Date published: 19 September 2008
UPPERMILL FC are on the look-out for a new manager after Dave Leech and Lee Tootill stepped down after just one season at the helm, writes JOHN GILDER.
The pair, who took over from Graham Hill, guided Uppermill to runners-up spot in the Huddersfield and District League first division.
But Leech and Tootill have recognised that other commitments meant they would not be able to dedicate enough time to the job.
Matt Poulter was in temporary charge of first-team affairs in the 2-0 defeat at New Mill 94 last weekend.
Meanwhile, Heyside paid the price for a combination of sloppy defending and shoddy finishing in a 3-1 defeat by Scissett in division three. D Sidlow scored the consolation.
There was better news for Uppermill in reserve division one as goals from Byrom Coleman, Pete Roberts, Jeff Grace, Phil Austin and Dave Taylor clinched a 5-0 win over Honley, while S Wright scored the consolation goal for Heyside reserves, who were beaten 3-1 by Westend.
