OLDHAM St Anne's coach Chris Deakin is tested by more bad news on the injury front as his team prepares for the visit of Bradford Dudley Hill tomorrow (2.30pm kick off).

Chris Clarke broke his thumb during last weekend's 32-2 loss at neighbours Saddleworth Rangers in National Conference League division one. In addition, the pack will be missing Jason Best once again, while fellow front row man Peter Deakin is struggling with a sore back.

Saints could welcome back Ryan Blake and Phil Jagger, who has now served his suspension.

Saddleworth travel to Ince Rose Bridge (2.30pm) minus Adam Walker, who is nursing a an injured ankle.

Despite not conceding a try in their first league game, coach Keith Brennan is urging his side to continue making progress.

"We defended well, but only because we had to," said Brennan, who hopes to have Tom Kilgannon and Adam Clayton back soon.

"There is plenty of room for improvement."

In NCL division two, Waterhead overcame the strong challenge of Ovenden last week to record their first victory of the season.

Mick Slicker's side will be without unavailable pair Warren Druggitt and Jimmy Kirkland this weekend for the trip to familiar foes Eccles and Salford Juniors (2.30pm), as they bid to build on that 30-26 triumph.
