Rockettes on the run

Uppermill Rockettes hit the ground running in their first competitive 11-a-side game in division two of the West Riding Girls League.

They battled back from a goal down to defeat Northowram, from Halifax, 4-2.

Rebecca Fox, captain Caroline Pinches, Katie Wretham, Helen Clayton were on target for Uppermill, who were hoping to continue their winning ways against Rothwell Town Ladies.

Unfortunately, after going close through Ashleigh Jackson and Clayton — the latter hit the woodwork twice — Uppermill succumbed 6–0.

Chaddy End FC slipped to a 6-0 defeat against Barr Hill Ladies in the Manchester and Cheshire Women’s League.
