Title glory for Saddleworth

DESPITE losing their last two games, Saddleworth’s third team clinched a Site Electrical North Manchester League double.
Winners of the Stokes Cup late last month, the Well-i-Hole outfit added the division three title to their roll of honour.
They were crowned champions by the narrowist of margins — one point — after going down to Thornham thirds and Rochdale Catholic Club seconds on the final weekend of the season.
Scores are —
Saturday, division two: Prestwich Heys III 165, Failsworth Macedonia IIs 156-9.
Division three: Saddleworth IIIs 113-8, Thornham III 155-8.
Sunday, division three: Saddleworth IIIs 116-8, Rochdale Catholic Club IIs 129.
