THE THIRD round of the Lancashire Cup will be an Oldham-free zone, after the remaining two clubs in the competition were knocked out.
Oldham St Anne's 'A' went down 32-24 at home to Latchford Albion in round two, despite at one stage holding an 18-6 advantage.
Sheldon Lord, Steve Hunt and Ryan Harley crossed for the home team, Hunt kicking all three conversions.
Latchford pulled it back to 18-16 with a pair of tries and a goal, before Andy McLaughlan’s try, Hunt adding the goal.
But three in quick succession for the Warrington side and two goals wrapped it up.
Saddleworth Rangers 'A', meanwhile, lost 34-12 at home to NWC League premier division outfit Rylands.
A Danny Atherton penalty for Rangers was answered by a converted try before Liam Moran’s try, Atherton adding the goal.
An unconverted try then handed Rylands a 10-8 lead at the teams swapped ends.
Danny Adams went over for the try of the match two minutes after the restart, the ball going through several pairs of hands before being crashed over in the corner.
But as Rangers tired late on, the visitors scored four tries to take the spoils.
