Fitton firing on all cylinders

FITTON Hill are going great guns in the D&J Builders (North-West) Ltd Oldham Sunday League.

Boasting a 100-per-cent record — four wins out of four — they are riding high in David Giblin division one.

Hill hit the goals trail last weekend, brushing aside Wellington ‘A’ 7-1, while FC Broadgate surged in to second place after a 3-1 defeat of Crompton and Royton.

Royton FC reached the summit of the Jack Abbott premier division after a comprehensive 3-0 victory of Holts United.

Lowerhouse United played out a thrilling 5-5 draw at home to AFC Church, while Anthony Duffy snatched a point for High Crompton CC in a 1-1 draw at Coppice United.

Luke Mack smashed in four in a 6-1 win for Failsworth Dynamos against previously unbeaten Hunt Lane Tavern.

In division two, Steven Caine FC’s unblemished record was ruined by Rifle Range Blues.

In a battle of the top two teams, Blues recorded a 3-1 to win to move level on points with the home side.

In another high-scoring encounter, Waggon and Horses earned a share of the spoils in a 4-4 draw at Marvin Greenwood FC.

In the County Cup, Failsworth Athletic reached the next stage after 3-2 win over local rivals Boundary Park

M Olive (two) and G Eyre scored for the premier division outfit, while R Sopel and C Riley replied.
