Stanley take share of lead

STANLEY Road have joined CBC at the top of the Oldham Amateur Snooker League thanks to a 6-0 whitewash of North Chadderton.

Steve Hubbert Jnr got the home side off to a winning start, just managing to pip P Barnett by 5 points.

When P Lloyd and S Jones followed suit the home side were off to a flyer. Joe Allen then made it 4-0 before SJ Rayner took the final frame to complete the whitewash.

CBC managed to hold on to their top position alongside Stanley Road with a 4-2 win over Chadderton Reform.

A 44 break by Danny Balcerzak of Little Cot A helped his side to a battling 3-3 draw against Blue Club B, and that draw means that Little Cot A remain the only team who are unbeaten this season.

The local derby down at Springbank was a close run affair as the B team played host to the A team. With scores level at 2-2 and the A team just 1 point to the good in the aggregate Alan Gallagher managed to hold his nerve in the final frame against the dangerous Lee Bradbury to give Springbank B the spoils 4-2.

Springbank B have moved into top spot in the cards league thanks to a 3-1 win over Springbank A. They are 1 point clear of Nimble Nook in second place who in turn are 1 point clear of Passenger Y=Transport in third.

There is a delegates meeting this Sunday at Blue Club.
