Springbank take pole position

SPRINGBANK A have leapt to the top of the Oldham Amateur Snooker League thanks to a 6-0 whitewash of Oldham Town.

With Nimble Nook being held to a 3-3 draw by North Chadd, Springbank have taken full advantage and sit A point clear at the top with a game in hand on most of their rivals.

A fine 5-1 win by Deaf B away to Blue Club A moves them into joint third position alongside North Chadd, and a 5-1 win by Moss Inn over Oldham Cricket positions them nicely in fifth.

A 36 break by Steve Hubbert Snr (Stanley Road) was enough for him to take his frame but his side still went down 4-2 at the hands of Little Cot A.

Nimble Nook have extended their lead at the top of the card league to three points with a 3-1 win over North Chadd.
