Another win for Chaddy

Non-league football round up
CHADDERTON just can’t stop scoring and they recorded another impressive 4-1 home victory against Cheadle Town in division one of the Vodkat North West Counties League.
It took their total to 13 goals in their last four matches and it could conceivably have been a greater total given the chances they have created.
Seventh-placed Chadderton took control with two goals in the opening 13 minutes, both headers from John Cregan as each followed corners from Adam Whitehead.
Donovan Greenidge, Bobby Fulham and Cregan all had further chances in a whirlwind opening.
Chadderton took their foot of the pedal in the second quarter of the match and only a couple of super stops from keeper Lee Swanson ensured they reached the break 2-0 ahead.
The Broadway side started the second half well with Gareth Morris and Keith Melville both going close.
Town halved the deficit after 71 minutes with a goal from Mike Myers and suddenly it was game on.
Substitute Paul Socha came to the rescue scoring twice for Chadderton in the space of five minutes to seal victory.
Whitehead provided his third assist as his corner was converted by a spectacular diving header from Socha.
And Socha had the last word cutting in from the left and unleashing a spectacular long-range drive into the top corner from outside the penalty area.
OLDHAM TOWN’S promotion prospects in division one of the Vodkat NWCL received a setback following their 2-0 defeat at Norton United.
And their cause was not helped by the first-half dismissal of Lee Scanlan’s sending off for retaliating after being fouled.
Paul Rutter had given United an 18th-minute lead firing home from a Lee Talbot crossfield pass.
Town had chances, notably from Matt Landregan, Damien Schofield and Ryan Baldwin while Lee Neville had a penalty shout waved rejected as it proved not to be their day.
Rutter sealed victory for Town heading home their second goal and the local side’s misery was compounded when Lee Deakin limped off late on with a groin strain.
Injury-hit Mossley had a nightmare afternoon as they were beaten 5-0 at home by Newcastle Blue Star in their UniBond League, division one north top-of-the-table clash at Seel Park.
The damage was inflicted in the opening half-hour by which time Blue Star had established a 3-0 lead through goals from Darren Craddock, David McTiernan and Paul Brayson.
Blue Star added a fourth goal from Chris Emms, a long-range chip, within 60 seconds of the restart.
Brayson completed the scoring in the 55th minute with his 19th goal of the campaign, squeezing home a shot from the tightest of angles.
Blue Star could have won by a wider margin had they converted more of the chances they created, but late in the game Mossley could have had a couple of goals as Mike Fish and Scott Holt both went close.
