Mills blasts Town slackers

OLDHAM Town manager Tony Mills has criticised the attitude of his players as they prepare to take on Daisy Hill in Vodkat North West Counties League, division one tomorrow.

Town were beaten 2-0 at Norton United on Saturday, after which Mills said: “We left Oldham with only 11 players after five arrived late and had to make their own way to Staffordshire.

“The only thing which will stop us winning anything this season is the attitude of the players.

“We play really well for three or four games and then throw in a bad one, which is frustrating because on our day we are as good as any team in the division.”

CHADDERTON head to lowly AFC Blackpool in division one of the Vodkat NWCL.
The Broadway side won their last two games by putting four goals past Leek CSOB and Cheadle Town despite being without regulars Mark Egerton, Tony Hanlan, Louis Maynard, Micky Green and Ian Knapman.

Chadderton reserves are at home to Ashton Town.

CURZON Ashton will play the biggest game in their history tomorrow when they host Coca-Cola League Two side Exeter City in the first round of the FA Cup.

It is the first time that Curzon – who beat Mossley in the third qualifying round – have reached the first round proper.

Their cup run has already earned them £29,000 in prize money and their team includes former Oldham Town pair Dave Carnell and James Ogoo, ex-Chadderton player Phil Edghill and Michael O’Connor, whose father Malcolm was an ex-Mossley player.
